Training
AMRRIC aims to facilitate the provision of a range of culturally sensitive and professionally accountable education and training programs for vets, Indigenous community members, Environmental/Public Health Workers, Animal Management Officers and other community employees.
Veterinary training
In 2006 AMRRIC ran a short workshop on dog handling and flank speys in conjunction with the AMRRIC conference. Interested attendees were transported to a local vet clinic fora hands on session. In 2008 Queensland Health and AMRRIC conducted a workshop for veterinarians covering cultural awareness, zoonoses, delivering dog health programs in the field and sharing knowledges in Veterinary Health (photo below). See the presentations here.
In September 2010, ACT AVA and AMRRIC collaborated to run a similar workshop in Canberra.
