AMRRIC recognises that whether you’re in a community to live, work or visit, it’s helpful to have the skills to manage interactions with free roaming dogs so you feel confident and safe. AMRRIC’s Staying Safe Around Dogs videos discuss dog behaviour and body language, and how to recognise the danger signs and avoid getting bitten. They use useful case studies and examples to help you feel more confident in your interactions with dogs in remote Australian communities. The videos were produced and released in 2013, thanks to funding from the the Northern Territory Government. You can view the videos below. We also have a limited number of DVDs available, please contact us if you would prefer a copy that can be viewed offline.

In 2020, AMRRIC was proud to partner with Remote Area Health Corps (RAHC) to turn the video content into an interactive self-guided online module. The module takes the key points of the videos and expands on its messages through interactive activities.  Anyone can complete the module for free by registering on RAHC’s eLearning platform: www.rahc.com.au/elearning
