AMRRIC (Animal Management in Rural and Remote Indigenous Communities Ltd) is an established, national not-for-profit organisation based in Darwin.  Our small team of dedicated staff deliver a diverse range of One Health focused programs covering community and animal health and welfare, education and training, academic research, strategic planning and advocacy.  We work with remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to improve the health of their pets, helping to create healthier, safer and happier communities.

Program Manager - Operational Delivery

We are seeking a highly organised and relationship focused person with a commitment to sharing AMRRIC’s culture and core values. The Program Manager – Operational Delivery is an existing role replacing a staff retirement. The role will lead, direct and manage the day-to-day operations of AMRRIC’s One Health Program delivery. The successful aplicant will be committed to fostering a culturally safe environment, with a passion for working with remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and their companion animals.  

The Program Manager – Operational Delivery will be accountable to the General Manager, supported by skilled and experienced staff and stakeholders.  Responsibilities will include:

  • Program management including on-ground delivery, budgets and reporting 
  • Stakeholder relationship management
  • People leadership and supervision.

The successful applicant will have good communication skills and will be proactive in maintaining and building relationships. You will be highly organised and able to manage competing priorities. This is a full time, contract position based in Darwin, with remote and interstate travel required.  You will have experience working at the cross-cultural divide, with demonstrated experience and understanding of the challenges of delivering and operating programs in remote locations. Experience in the veterinary or animal management sector is essential.

Project Officer

AMRRIC has an exciting new role for a dedicated individual with a passion for working with remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and their companion animals.  The role will report to the Program Manager – Operational Delivery and assist in the delivery of AMRRIC’s One Health companion animal management program’s within remote communities.  Key criteria for the role include:

  • Strong project organisation skills including logistical planning and implementation of programs delivered in remote locations
  • Great interpersonal skills to successfully coordinate a range of stakeholders including volunteers and contractors
  • Assisting with data collection and reporting

The successful applicant will have a proactive role in the organisation and implementation of AMRRIC’s companion animal management programs, working with a range of diverse stakeholders.  The role requires someone who can demonstrate flexibility and problem solving capabilities in their approach to project delivery, including strong communication skills for implementing modified plans on the go.  This is a full time, contract position based in Darwin, with significant remote and interstate travel required.  Demonstrated experience working in remote locations and strong organisational and communication skills are essential.  Experience in the veterinary or animal management sector is desirable.

Communications & Marketing Officer - Part Time

AMRRIC has an exciting new role for a passionate person wanting to raise support and increase awareness and engagement with our unique organisation.  The Communications and Marketing Officer will develop and implement a communication strategy, working with AMRRIC staff and the CEO to plan and promote AMRRIC through a range of existing and new media platforms in order to grow awareness and interaction with AMRRIC’s media presence and brand recognition.

Some travel will be required including to remote regions with our programs. Strong communication skills and the flexibility to capture content and opportunities on the go.  This is a part-time, contract position based in Darwin.  Demonstrated experience working across multiple media platforms and building brand awareness are essential.
